Summer Reiki Ceremony (for You and Your Horse)

Summer often brings more movement, more riding, and more stimulation. Over time, that can build tension in both you and your horse.

This ceremony is a chance to step out of that cycle and reset.

It is a guided Reiki experience focused on helping both you and your horse release tension, regulate the nervous system, and return to a more balanced state.

What to Expect

  • This is a live, virtual Reiki ceremony.

Reiki is a gentle energy practice where the practitioner acts as a channel for energy that supports the body’s ability to relax, regulate, and restore balance. You do not need any experience. You simply show up and receive.

  • Reiki acts as a reset for the nervous system, helping both you and your horse shift out of tension and into a more relaxed, regulated state.

    For you:

    • Promotes a relaxed nervous system state, often described as a physical and mental exhale

    • Encourages the body to move into rest, digest, and repair functions

    • Helps release physical tension and mental overload

    • Improves awareness of how and where you hold stress

    For your horse:

    • Supports relaxation and downregulation of the nervous system

    • Encourages release of tension patterns, especially through the poll, jaw, and topline

    • Promotes a softer, more responsive body

    • Helps create a calmer, more settled state overall

Reiki works by supporting regulation first. From there, both body and behavior can change more easily.

  • You can choose to include your horse in the session.

Before the event, you will submit your horse’s name and an optional photo. Your horse does not need to be present.

During the Reiki portion, your horse will be included in the session alongside you.

  • Reiki is an energy-based practice and is not limited by time or physical space.

During the session, both you and your horse are included intentionally using your names and focused awareness. Because Reiki does not rely on physical contact, it can be directed just as effectively across distance.

I have both received and given many virtual Reiki sessions, and some people intentionally only book virtual sessions so they can remain in their own environment without needing to travel. The experience is often described as just as deep and impactful as in-person work.

You and your horse do not need to be physically present to receive the session.

    • Grounding and breathwork

    • Brief introduction to Reiki and how it applies to horse and rider

    • Guided journaling

    • Group Reiki session for you and optional horse inclusion

    • Closing and integration

Total time is about 60 minutes.

The ceremony is structured to help you gradually settle, receive, and integrate the experience.
  • We will begin by getting settled on Zoom and guiding you through simple breathwork to help you shift out of the day.

  • A brief, grounded explanation of Reiki and how it supports both horse and human.

  • You will be given simple prompts to help bring awareness to where you are holding tension and what you would like to shift.

  • You will remain on Zoom in a relaxed position while receiving Reiki. If you have chosen to include your horse, they will be included in this portion of the session. ( Camera on or off! Whatever Your Comfort Level is)

  • We will gently bring you out of the session and allow time to notice any shifts before closing.

Facilitators

Chloe Johnson

Chloe Johnson is the owner of Spotted Horse LLC, a Reiki practitioner, and an animal communicator who works with both horses and humans.

Her work centers around energy, the nervous system, and the connection between horse and rider. She believes that true change happens when the body is able to regulate, release tension, and return to balance.

Chloe’s belief in Reiki comes from her own experience. After struggling with chronic back pain, she used Reiki as part of her healing process and experienced a full resolution of that pain. That experience shifted the direction of her work and deepened her commitment to energy-based practices.

She has since used Reiki with horses and donkeys, supporting both chronic and acute conditions, as well as helping animals move into a more relaxed and regulated state. Her approach is intuitive, grounded, and focused on creating real change in both body and behavior.

Perry

Perry is Chloe’s personal horse and the inspiration behind Spotted Horse LLC.

He has been a central part of her healing journey and played a role in her own experience with Reiki and energy work. Through that process, Perry showed a natural sensitivity to energy and a strong presence during healing sessions.

Perry enjoys being part of the healing process and will be invited into this ceremony as a supportive presence. His role is to help anchor the session and contribute to the overall sense of calm, connection, and regulation for both horses and humans.

Eleanor Parks

Eleanor's background spans education, coaching, and creative development. With a strong focus on process and progress, Eleanor helps learners move from where they are to where they want to be—one step at a time.

Your Questions, Answered
  • A replay will be provided to all participants.

You can still receive the Reiki session even if you listen to the replay later, and your horse can still be included.

  • That’s completely normal.

Some people feel strong physical sensations, while others experience a subtle sense of calm or quiet. Reiki works with the body’s nervous system whether the experience feels noticeable or not.

Many people notice the effects after the session in how they feel, think, or respond.

  • No.

Your horse does not need to be physically present. You can join from anywhere. If you choose to include your horse, they will be intentionally included in the Reiki session using their name and your focus on them.

  • Keep it simple.

Find a quiet, comfortable space where you can relax without interruption. You may want to sit or lie down, have water nearby, and be in a place where you feel at ease.

There is nothing you need to do during the session other than be present.
